Senior Director, Engineering

Responsible for strategic direction and management of the engineering staff and facilities, across various platforms, in various locations, with varying degrees of technology. Create, implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Support system operations, including technical services and plant maintenance. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication in line with product deployment and support.

Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Leads an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.

Oversees specific support team such as Inside Plant operations, network engineering, advanced video engineering, circuit and telephony operations, service delivery and related equipment requirements.

Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.

Evaluates and consults with executive management regarding technical operations, strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment.

Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.

Reviews selections on bids for contracted projects, and provides recommendations as necessary.

Directs capital budget process, executes approved budget plan.

Ensures current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Federal Communication Commission Standards.

Oversees the maintenance of records as required by the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies.

Ensures adherence to company TQA policies, operational playbooks, and internal and external service agreements.

Leads and participates in succession planning.

Performs other duties as requested by Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Advanced Knowledge of HFC Architecture and design

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Ability to supervise and motivate others

Ability to use personal computer and software applications

Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations

Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations

Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state

Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems

Advanced knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory

Advanced knowledge of Electronic theory

Advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic theory

Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code

Effective leadership skills

Organizational Agility

Strategic Agility

Required Education

Master's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Required Related WOrk Experience and Number of Years

9 years Management expereince

12 years Engineering and/or Maintenance experience

5 years Project management experience

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of company products and services

Preferred Education

Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)

Working Conditions

Office enviornment

Travel Required - 50%
