Repair Technician

Job Summary

Repair products returned with defects and communicate with the customer and vendor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily repairs and troubleshooting including, maintenance, design, and documentation.
• Contacts customer, vendors and internal department via phone, fax, or e-mail.
• Creates sales and purchase orders.
• Maintains accurate documentation on all repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment

• Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes, or odors.
• No travel required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squat.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree in mechanical or electronics field.
• 2 years experience in an electronics and/or mechanical field.
• Mechanical/repair experience a plus.
• Clean Driving Record required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to engage with customers effectively.
• A friendly demeanor and a desire to help customers with their needs.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• This job involves the inspections of customer equipment.
• There is driving travel involved and some overnights.

Pay: $16.50 - $20.48 per hour
