Garver is seeking a Technical Instructional Designer to support and develop critical learning experiences and self-paced eLearnings for the business. This role will require a strong level of project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
The Technical Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and designing new and effective learning solutions and instructional experiences that help achieve desired learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in instructional design principles and eLearning authoring tool Articulate, with a focus on creating innovative learning solutions tailored to technical content, such as software, systems, or engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Produce eLearnings with Articulate Storyline.
  • Build experiential learning experiences appropriate for targeted learners using adult learning theory that appeals to various learning styles and audiences.
  • Follow the ADDIE method of curriculum development for technical topics.
  • Assess skill gaps and develop training solutions.
  • Collaborate with course owners and subject matter experts to design, develop, revise, maintain content, and manage the content review process.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training (ILT) materials, job aids, and simulations.
  • Use various instructional design methods including both Agile and Waterfall curriculum development, gamification, microlearning, social learning, or project-based learning (PBL).
  • Incorporate Project Management Institute methodologies to create interactive, technically functional, and educational deliverables comprised of text, video, assessments, case studies, exercises, and learning aids using multimedia authoring tools and software.
  • Evaluate the business impact of learning programs using assessments as well as learning and performance metrics.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within milestones, scope, and budget.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including SMEs, project managers, and end-users.
  • Facilitate sessions for topics within expertise.
  • Support instructor-led virtual events with instructional expertise and be the subject matter expert on best practices in instructional design and enablement solutions.
  • Perform additional projects and responsibilities as needed.


Required Qualifications:
* Proficient in Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate or other e-learning content creation tools.
* 3 years technical instructional design experienceincluding whitepapers, training content, participant workbooks, and facilitator guides.
* Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
* Facilitation skills and strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies.
* Experience with multiple learning solutions combining classroom, e-learning and micro-learning concepts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to travel as needed to support, deliver, or lead learning events.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience within engineering or professional services industries
* Certification in Instructional Design or Project Management
* Experience with Insights Discovery, DiSC, MBTI, or other personality assessment programs
