Compensation Grade: H96Compensation Details: Minimum: $20.00 - Maximum: $20.00 HourlyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities The Hourly Project Assistant II will liaise with and follow up with NYSDOH staff and Article 28 infection preventionists to collect information related to healthcare-associated reporting requirements. The Hourly Project Assistant II will capture the data into relevant databases in a timely and accurate manner, identify and correct errors, and swiftly bring issues to the attention of the lead epidemiologist. This position is part of the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program. This position will last approximately 10 weeks from 6/2/2025 to 8/8/2025. It is made available through funding from the Center for Disease Control's Public Health Infrastructure Grant to expand opportunities to strengthen career pathways to public health by bringing together students of all disciplines and academic levels with public health professionals to create a space of exploration, learning, and development. Undergraduate student pursuing a public health, epidemiology, biostatistics/statistics, data analysis, or health informatics major or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications Graduate student with knowledge of communicable diseases or recent MPH graduate (within the past 6 months) with experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiology. Clinical experience or experience with public health data management systems. Conditions of Employment Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
