Job Description

The Vertex Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Not only will co-ops learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Supply Chain Risk Management team is responsible for the ongoing management of our operational risks in the supply chain as well as our business continuity planning. The Risk Management team works closely with multiple stakeholders within CMSC, Quality Assurance, Third Party Risk Management Office, and Corporate Risk Management to ensure we have adequate mitigation plans in place for all known risks, and tracks adherence to mitigation action due dates. They also lead the effort to gather new risks and mitigation plans as Vertex continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represents Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Junior level forums, communicating overall risk profile and mitigations.
  • Collaborates with internal and external key stakeholders to manage supply chain risks from identification through mitigation.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance/risk metrics for the supply chain risk management and Business Continuity processes
  • Represents Supply Chain on projects related to risk mitigation, operational resilience, and business continuity
  • Maintains risk database and participates in routine risk review meetings with key stakeholders such as Tech Ops, Quality, and Corporate Risk Management
  • Maintains Commercial Supply Chain's Business Continuity Plans to document new initiatives to improve resiliency
  • Support System Administrator of Risk Management platform, Riskonnect, and contribute to the enhancements roadmap of its functionality, dashboards creation/refinement, troubleshoot system issues, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Displays ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses strong organization skills
  • Possesses ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
  • Detail oriented and tech-savvy
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist in the execution of projects of diverse scope and complexity
  • Previous experience conducting risk assessments or FMEA exercises
  • Legal authorizationto work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025.

Pay Range 20.00 - 35.00 USD/hour
