MMD Medical, a Velosity Company is searching for an Estimator to facilitate the quoting process to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN.

The typical pay range for this role: $68,000-$81,576. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

This is an on-site position during the training period, with hybrid capabilities to follow.

Essential Duties:

  • Facilitate the quoting process, including following all process from receipt of RFQ to publishing of final quote.
  • Develop new and modified tooling and part price quotations for accuracy and completeness within the agreed upon due dates, that meet the customer intent with an internal work methodology that ensures Velosity's success.
  • Schedule quote kickoffs by providing a populated HUB sheet to the team, set-up meetings as needed to ensure customer expectations are clearly defined, and Velosity limitations are understood and/or mitigated.
  • Maintain electronic quote folder accuracy per established procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with all employees
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in any area of the precision machining industry with emphasis in accounting, Swiss/CNC machining, or engineering.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Experience in developing quotes for precision machining.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Swiss/CNC machining and the manufacturing processes with emphasis in estimating costs; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Epicor quoting systems, and Solidworks or ProE for quote generation purposes.
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; Work independently with limited supervision; Able to solve practical problems and work effectively and collaboratively with customers, vendors and other departments; Ability to evaluate costs and pricing to provide the best solution.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 10 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
