Intern Job Summary

James River Insurance has internship opportunities across our organization including, but not limited to, our Actuarial, Underwriting, Accounting, Information Technology teams. Under direct supervision, the Intern will be assigned to work on specific projects and partner with experienced employees. We are looking for individuals interested in working in our collaborative environment with some of the best professionals in our industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working on meaningful projects and day to day work to increase knowledge of a particular concentration.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with differing deadlines
  • Ability to follow through and see a task or project it is conclusion or desired result
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent research skills


Experience and Education



  • College enrolled student majoring towards Business, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field
  • Additional qualifications may be required based on internship focus/role.
