Compensation Grade: H96Compensation Details: Minimum: $20.00 - Maximum: $20.00 HourlyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work within the Division of Public Health Infrastructure. The incumbent will work with the Office of Public Health Academic Liaison to strengthen public health career pathway development through youth engagement. This role will support initiatives that encourage K-12 students, workforce/certificate program students, and emerging professionals to pursue careers in public health. Job tasks will include assisting with the organization and implementation of events, classroom presentations, and curriculum development (lesson plans, student activities, etc.). The incumbent will also assist in identifying schools and other organizations for partnership and review literature related to effective engagement and career pathway development strategies. These activities will contribute to increasing the size of the public health workforce. This position is part of the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program. This position will last approximately 10 weeks from 6/2/2025 to 8/8/2025. It is made available through funding from the Center for Disease Control's Public Health Infrastructure Grant to expand opportunities to strengthen career pathways to public health by bringing together students of all disciplines and academic levels with public health professionals to create a space of exploration, learning, and development. Minimum Qualifications Currently or within the past six months enrolled in a workforce training program or institution of higher education pursuing a degree or certificate program related to education, counseling, public health, health and human services, child development, psychology, social work, social sciences, child and family studies, and/or community health. Conditions of Employment Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
