FICC Operations is looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent teamwork, organizational, technical, communication and risk management skills. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in financial markets and products and be able to operate effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment, partner with the business and federation in order to facilitate business growth with a key focus on the risk and control around the trade capture, documentation, and settlement of structured financing transactions.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched, or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that develops the processes and controls that makes business flow.

FICC Operations is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all post trade processes, including Allocation, Confirmations, and Settlements. Our success is derived from a combination of process efficiency and adherence to Controls and risk management principles. We excel at finding commercial solutions that meet our clients' needs without compromising risk and control.

FICC Operations is a global organization operating out of Salt Lake City, New York City, Dallas, London, Warsaw, Singapore and Bengaluru. The department's key priorities are to mitigate risk, provide exceptional client service and drive strategic change.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position available is within FICC Operations team. Key stakeholders and interactions will be with GS Trading and Sales Desks, Engineering and Operations Teams, Treasury, Legal, Compliance and external counterparties.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Subject Matter Expert in Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Currency operational processes.
  • Managing operational aspects of FICC transactions and communication with internal/external clients.
  • Risk mitigation, ensuring client activity is successfully managed post trade execution, including SLA adherence.
  • Idea generation and implementation of creating quality solutions within the team to support new client and business activity and regulatory adherence.
  • Partner with Trading/Sales and Federation stakeholders on executing new business and maintaining existing trade portfolios
  • Provide Lifecycle Support and guidance to Trading Desks, Sales and Clients. This role will involve a large amount of facilitation and negotiation with global teams across all divisions.
  • Work closely with other team members and management to achieve both industry set and internal targets.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders - Business, Engineering, Operations and Treasury. Actively engage, partner and drive changes, provide excellent service and support.
  • Monitoring Key Risk Indicators and ensuring they are at or below agreed levels



FICC Operations has the benefit of being located in the nucleus of an investment bank so the exposure and interaction that you will gain will be vast. The team will interface with global teams across divisions. The team acts as a change agent, by improving processes and procedures and contribute meaningfully to the overall strategy of the organization.

In depth on the job training will be provided, backed up with on-going support and oversight as you will be responsible for an important function within the team. The role is ideal for a candidate who wants experience of a variety of FICC Operations functions.

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY

  • Control focus and achievement orientated to produce results to ensure that all risk is mitigated.
  • Experience leading line teams which perform same day deadline driven tasks.
  • Comfortable presenting complex information in a structured and concise manner, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple processing deadlines throughout the day
  • Razor-sharp attention to detail paired with prudent risk aversion and control-forward thinking
  • Constant drive to implement process improvement and challenge inefficiencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to manage projects and initiatives, influence others, and implement change in a consensus driven environment



PREFERRED



  • Work experience in a Global Banking and Markets role for 10+ years
  • Experience leading a team providing task supervision, support and training to more junior members
  • Proficiency in general data analysis
  • FICC industry and market knowledge would be an advantage
