Bid Specialist (Temporary)

Job Summary:
The Sales Enablement & Bid Management Team includes client-focused, collaborative, and high-performing professionals who are strategically aligned to BDO's market development and growth priorities.

The Bid Specialist is responsible for managing the quality of our deliverables and building drafts of responses as needed as part of the larger Sales Enablement & Bid Management Team. That team works to ensure that BDO's pursuit materials are strategic, compelling, and high-quality by focusing on 4 main areas:



  1. Quality control - reviewing grammatical and structural element of a deliverable as well as confirming that final deliverables conform to our corporate visual identity
  2. Execution - compiling bid deliverables using vetted content and appropriate templates
  3. Strategy - working with our service professionals to develop pursuit materials and messaging that are designed to align with each client's unique needs
  4. Enablement - creating and managing tools, templates, and processes to expedite the delivery of high-quality pursuit materials and messaging


Job Duties:



  • Administers proposal process for assigned pursuits (typically straight forward, high volume and low fee engagement types) through all phases to include:

    • Analyzes RFPs to gain comprehensive knowledge of proposal requirements and manage process of securing required contributions including biographies, client lists, testimonials or case studies, descriptions of technical approaches, and other materials from BDO personnel to best respond to RFPs in full compliance with all requirements and deadlines
    • Tailors proposal to specifically address the needs of pursuit
    • Researches the prospective company to understand alignment of BDO with prospect
    • Differentiate BDO by producing compelling, focused proposal documents
    • Partners closely with pursuit team and other professionals to determine and manage strategy, messaging, win themes, points of distinction and key success factors that are tailored to the needs of the client and differentiate BDO to produce a compelling, focused proposal document
    • Reviews, edits and integrates information from all proposal contributors into a cohesive, appropriate response, resolving issues as needed
    • Prepares final document
    • Creates necessary documents/presentations for oral presentations of proposal, as needed

  • Provides timely deliverables, allocates time appropriately, and communicates status or time/support needs
  • Works with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure responses reflect the firm's brand, messages and visual identity, and adheres to applicable review and compliance processes
  • Tracks pursuits by maintaining and distributing scheduled status reports and updating the CRM system
  • Other sales enablement and bids support and duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing or other related field and 2 or more years of proposal related, writing, marketing and communications, project management or sales experience OR 3 or more years of proposal related, writing, marketing and communications, project management or sales experience with a high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Progress towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing or other relevant field preferred


Software:



  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel with emphasis on and working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Driven, self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented environment
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to successfully manage projects and achieve desired results



Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $24.00/hr - $31.00/hr Maryland Range: $24.00/hr - $31.00/hr
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $24.00/hr - $31.00/hr
