We're actively seeking a talented Private Credit Surveillance Manager to join our Private Asset Investment team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office. The Private Asset team manages a rapidly growing portfolio of over $20 billion of AUM and operates within the Pacific Life Investment (PLI) division that manages over $130B of AUM.

The Manager of the Private Credit Surveillance team will lead the establishment and direction of a team of Surveillance Analysts and continually optimize the processes and technology used for private credit surveillance. This role involves interfacing with internal teams (credit analysis/underwriting, risk management) and external partners (bankers, consultants, technology vendors).

How you'll help us move forward:

  • Leadership:Lead and manage a team of Surveillance Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide mentorship and support to ensure team members' professional growth and development.

  • Process Optimization:Continuously evaluate and improve surveillance processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline workflows and ensure timely and comprehensive monitoring of private credit investments.

  • Technology Product Owner: Drive surveillance platform enhancements to meet the evolving needs of the credit analysts and PLI leadership. Implement changes in collaboration with Enterprise Technology and external technology vendors.

  • Reporting:Provide clear and actionable reporting to credit analysts, helping them identify, understand, and manage credit risk. Develop and maintain automated dashboards and reports that highlight key performance indicators, covenant tracking, and early-warning signals.

The experience you bring:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit risk management, private credit surveillance, or a related field.

  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing business processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using workflow and investment surveillance software.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$134,280.00 - $164,120.00
