Another Source's Client, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, is recruiting an Accounting Manager to join the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) team.

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a nonprofit auxiliary organization authorized by the CSU Board of Trustees to perform student life functions for the campus. ASI employs 60 full-time staff and 500 part-time student employees, manages a $18M annual budget, and stewards over 294,000 square feet of student space, including the student union and recreation center.

Hybrid schedule with 3 days in office (Wednesday required) and 2 remote.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is up to the mid-point of the salary range $69,239 - $84,819, depending on qualifications and experience. The full salary range for the role is $69,239 - 100,397.

About the role:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Services, the Accounting Manager leads the General Accounting unit within ASI's Financial Services department. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting of all ASI funds, managing audits, overseeing payroll entry and reconciliations, supporting policy development, and preparing reports for campus and regulatory partners.

This is a leadership role that also includes supervising a small team and collaborating across departments to ensure ASI maintains compliance and meets its fiduciary responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting and Financial Oversight

    Manage general ledger functions, including inter-fund transfers, reconciliations, and chart of accounts
  • Oversee monthly and year-end closing processes and financial reviews
  • Ensure compliance with ASI, CSU, and state financial policies and procedures
  • Oversee cash flow planning, fixed asset tracking, and audit preparation
  • Prepare and present financial reports and projections to stakeholders

Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise a team of 5 part-time staff (including a PT Accounting Supervisor and Assistants)
  • Provide coaching, goal setting, training, and cross-training
  • Ensure alignment with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement
  • Interpret and apply financial policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Recommend and implement process improvements across financial functions
  • Collaborate on training and internal communication efforts
  • Engagement and Culture
  • Participate in ASI-wide learning and development activities
  • Model ASI's values of care, growth, equity, and continuous learning

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including reconciliations, reporting, and training
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising others
  • Experience in fund accounting
