Summary: Support sales of corporate products and services to business establishments or individuals over the telephone or in person by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Build and maintain customer relationships by responding fast, professionally, and with your own personal touch.
  • Steadfast focus on growing both sales and margin; while at the same time following corporate defined processes and procedures to ensure quality and continual improvement in speed as well as order entry errors.
  • Process customer requests via inbound phone calls, emails, and faxes and convert these requests into Bids and/or Orders.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of vendor's production and delivery schedules. Utilize various portals and websites to navigate quick and accurate responses back or direct purchasing on customer's behalf.
  • Provide Spec Sheets, MSDS, and other product documentation directly to customers.
  • Review daily reports to manage Open Orders and Bids in process. Expedite as required to deliver to customer's required date.
  • Entice potential new customers to do business with Werner Electric; these requests generally come in through the group ACD system of incoming calls.
  • Strong support of various Account Managers to coordinate communication and activity with customers; assist in sending product demos, samples, literature; discuss selling price and margin decisions by order as needed; support and promote business conversion opportunities; network through marketing events and visit directly with customers to build relationships.
  • Work with internal Product Manager's as well as Vendor Partners to navigate technical requirements of products.
  • Build strong Vendor Partnerships to establish individual ability to negotiate pricing to benefit both customers and Werner.
  • Interface with Purchasing Department as needed for Special Orders, Pricing Not Maintained inventory, Non-Stock inventory, etc. Provide feedback on behalf of customers using the Lost Sale Tracker Report on WKRP for every lost opportunity; which provides feedback to sales, purchasing, and product managers on Customer Feedback to product offerings and stocking levels. Follow corporate process for Direct purchasing and secure pre-payment of staged product.
  • Work directly with Pricing Department to assist in managing customer pricing; load project pricing when applicable; limit manual overrides to pricing, etc.
  • Work with Accounting Department: line of credit matters, invoice discrepancies, credit/rebills, credit card processing, etc.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Team to assist in investigating and resolving customer feedback with product deliveries, late deliveries, etc.
  • Coordinate with RGA Team to return product from customers and navigate warranty, repair, and service.
  • Support Quality initiatives and improvements. Assist in maintaining work area tidiness. Continually provide suggestions on how to improve.
  • Adhere to Safety practices and procedures.
  • Participate in After Hour customer support.
  • Other related duties as assigned including but not limited to: administrative/office duties, deliveries, warehouse pick orders, backup coverage for Counter Sales, and anything else to enhance outstanding customer service.


Minimum Candidate Requirements



  • 3+ years of experience in a customer service role related to industrial/construction projects/products.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • HS Diploma
