The Institute for Food, Nutrition, and Health (
IFNH) is seeking a Fitness Coordinator for the NExT Center, to assist with research study implementation and data collection, ensuring all persons participating in assessments are asked to sign a consent form so that the Center can use their deidentified data in the future
IRB-approved research purposes. Responsible for scheduling the Assessments and interpreting data from research instruments such as Strength Tests, VO2max, and other tests. Provides leadership and supervision to student mentors while assisting in the dissemination of information/education to peers. You will oversee the fitness program's development, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. In addition, a goal is to support and enhance the visibility of the training and condition program via marketing and outreach initiatives and programs. Overall, you should adhere to the Fitness Coordinator Responsibilities document guidelines. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree or higher in Exercise Sciences. |
Certifications/Licenses |
First Aid and
CPR Certification. Advanced knowledge of sport nutrition, Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Certified Sports Nutritionist - International Society of Sports Nutrition (
CISSN), and
USAW Sport Performance Coach certification preferred. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in health related field Preferred.
NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist; 3+ years experience training in one on one and group setting; knowledge of and skills necessary to interpret data from: Cosmed Bodpod, Cosmed Metabolic Cart, Parvo metabolic cart, microsoft office suite of programs. Required skill- perform Bodpod body composition testing, VO2max testing, strength testing, Resting Metabolic Rate testing; knowledge of advanced exercise testing and prescription for athlete, general population, special population. First Aid and
CPR Certification. Advanced knowledge of sport nutrition, Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Certified Sports Nutritionist - International Society of Sports Nutrition (
CISSN), and
USAW Sport Performance Coach certification preferred. |

Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate strength and conditioning and fitness programs for athletes and general population. Provide leadership and training to graduate student trainers and interns. Administer and interpret physiological and performance testing. Maintain client training and evaluation logs. Responsible for maintenance of Rutgers Protection of Minors Database for the programs, scheduling testings, classes, and fee collection and monitoring. |
