We're actively seeking a talented Business Analyst I to join our Product Development Business Analysis team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Business Analyst I, you'll move Pacific Life and your career forward by developing life insurance technical documents (e.g. product specifications) that will be used by your business partners and creating test tools that will be used to ensure the successful coding of life insurance products in the IT systems. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert on life insurance products. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 6 people in the Consumer Markets Division. Your colleagues will include other business analysts and actuarial professionals.
How you'll help move us forward:
Create technical documentation, including but not limited to life insurance product specifications, technical guides, and comparison documents. Code excel testing tools that mimic life insurance product mechanics. Lead benchmark efforts by comparing expected results generated via the testing tool against system generated values, and debugging and resolving any differences that may arise. Support Compliance, Marketing and Training in the development of key project artifacts. Become a life insurance subject matter expert and initial point of contact for questions that may arise on life insurance products and features.
The experience you bring:
0-2 years of experience in insurance 4-year degree or equivalent experience, with emphasis in Math, Economics and/or Business MS Excel experience Analytical mindset (i.e. able to understand complex concepts and capture them in documentation that is easily understood by the business) Passion for technical writing
What makes you stand out:
Experience using Adobe FrameMaker Experience working with cross-functional teams Coding experience within MS Excel (e.g. using macros in Excel)
