The Position
Job TitleLoan Quality Assurance Supervisor
Job Description
SUMMARY This position is responsible for managing the Loan Quality Assurance team's daily functions to mitigate risk related to consumer and real estate lending functions. This includes developing and managing the team, developing and maintaining QA processes, quality assurance of loan files including loan system data, collateral documentation and perfection, credit documentation and policy compliance, developing, monitoring, and reporting controls, and documentation exceptions management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Develop team including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, measuring performance, providing feedback, and leading meetings.
- Ensure that department goals, quality, and service standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Quality Assurance team responsibilities, perform priority tasks, and provide backup for all QA team functions.
- Develop and improve procedures, tools, checklists and working instructions for team tasks.
- Ensure proper loan quality controls in place to mitigate risks and periodic control assessment.
- Manage document exception tracking process, resolution, and reporting. Ensure accuracy of loan document tracking exceptions in accordance with loan agreements, covenants, approved requests, credit policy, and bank procedures.
- Use bank loan sampling methodology to perform loan reviews and provide results.
- Ensure loans are documented properly, demonstrate collateral perfection, and critical loan data is accurate in the bank's core loan system.
- Coordinate and ensure accuracy of HMDA, TRID, Flood, Reg Z Right of Rescission, Fair Lending and other regulatory required loan information.
- Perform ongoing risk-based monitoring and evaluation of internal controls and regulatory compliance for quality purposes.
- Continually prepare and distribute quality results reports.
- Coordinate and respond to findings from Compliance, Internal, and External audits.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and key representative for the QA team.
- Participate in work collaborations as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent service to external customers, community banks, and Loan Operations staff.
- Maintain customer centric focus while managing various tasks with a high level of accuracy and quick turnaround.
- Maintain an essential understanding of loan origination and credit approval process.
- Continually update skills and knowledge of regulatory requirements, Bank policies and procedures, systems, and industry standards.
- Recommend possible process improvements to manager when identified.
- Complete required compliance exams annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of experience in banking, lending, or operations
- Good understanding of financial institution products and services
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across business units, operations and credit departments
- Excellent leadership, process management, conflict management, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to initiate tasks and projects with little or no supervision
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities
- Computer software navigation skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and processes
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business, law, or finance
- Three or more years of progressive experience in banking, lending, or operations
- Previous supervisory experience with proven team building, mentoring, training and coaching skills
- Experience with Jack Henry Silverlake software
- Above basic Microsoft Excel skills and/or data analysis
- Extensive experience with loan documentation, lien perfection, collateral perfection, credit monitoring, document tracking and management, lending related regulatory requirements, and management reporting
- Extensive experience with documents for home mortgage and consumer loans
