THE POSITION

Are you a high school student interested in gaining Business Administrative and Clerical skills? Are you ready for a paid internship that will give you great experience and start your career with the Commonwealth of PA? Then this high school internship located in Crawford County is for you! Come join our team and enhance skills/experience with Administrative office duties.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include basic typing and data entry, as well as proficiency in word processing applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Your duties will encompass filing, copying documents, answering phone calls, and providing customer service. Additionally, you will sort and prepare spreadsheets and reports, as well as handle mail. It will be essential to compile detailed reports regarding road-related issues and relay them to the appropriate assistant manager, ensuring that messages are communicated effectively to the relevant personnel.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Work schedule will vary based on agreement between high school and COPA location
  • This internship will run July 1, 2025 and end on June 30, 2026.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:

  • You must be at least 16 years of age.
  • You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be a vo-tech (career and technical center) student in an approved cooperative vocational program that has prepared the student for the duties and description of work described in this posting.
  • Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.
  • Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position.
  • By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
