General Manager

JOB DUTIES:

• Appoints, directs, and motivates technicians to meet or exceed stated goals (hire, train and terminate employees as needed)
• Evaluates equipment for repairs, maintenance, and safety checks
• Answers telephone and receives orders by phone
• Assist rental customers, visitors and vendors in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
• Explain rental fees and provide information about rented items such as operation of equipment and safety features
• Resolve customer problems and answer questions
• Assist customers with the loading and unloading of equipment when necessary
• Complete rental transactions on Renterra software by performing basic tasks including, checking equipment rates and availability, creating rental quotes, reserving equipment, opening/closing rental contracts, scheduling equipment deliveries/pickups, emailing quotes/reservations/contracts to customers, preparing and processing payments
• Ensure cleanliness of shop and equipment. Keep the facility organized, stocked and presentable
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required
• Equipment rental industry experience preferred; Experience as inside sales representative, rental counter sales representative, auto parts sales representative, equipment dispatcher, truck dispatcher, construction foreman, or similar role preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize efficiently
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Leadership aptitude, strong motivator and negotiator
• Customer Service Aptitude
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lift/move approximately 50-70 lbs and sit or stand for long periods of time
• Strong telephone skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This role requires constant interaction with the public
• May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, grease and cleaning solvents
• Mix of indoor and outdoor work
• Some Night / Weekend work required
