We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer III 1st Shift to join our Sanford, NC team. You will be responsible for assuring compliance to product requirements which lead to customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for driving continuous improvement which provides enhanced quality to our customers.

You will:

  • Drive customer focus in area(s) of responsibility by ensuring the voice of the customer (external and internal) is represented and actions are taken to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Apply Quality and Lean principles (DOE, poka-yoke, visual management, etc.) and tools as necessary to continuously improve product and process quality in order to achieve site and Business Unit quality objectives.
  • Assure compliance with all aspects of the Quality Management System by providing training, executing audits, monitoring trends, and driving corrective actions to maintain and improve the system.
  • Participate in product and process planning/design, gage design and service development. Perform all quality PCO/PCR reviews. Drive compliance to Control Plan & PPAP requirements.
  • Evaluate process capability and apply appropriate statistical techniques and control methods to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Apply appropriate tools to give feedback to operators, and to ensure control of key process and product characteristics.
  • Act as tactical Supplier Quality liaison for purchased materials and design/process changes requiring Pentair approval.
  • Supervise Quality Technician(s) and Inspectors and actively participate in their development. Drive safe behaviors within the team.
  • Apply sound business acumen to determine when and how to escalate safety or quality issues to site leadership.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Mechanical focus preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Quality Engineer, preferably 5+
  • Manufacturing environment with injection molding and assembly experience preferred.
  • Supplier validation and qualification experience
  • Lean environment & implementation experience a plus
  • Automotive Quality Systems experience a plus, including AIAG's PPAP and xFMEA processes.
  • Electrical, PCBA, and/or motor experience a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of problem-solving tools and methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data-based decisions to sustain higher levels of process of product quality.
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization, delegation, and multitasking skills
  • Proven leadership skills & abilities
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71000 - $131800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
