In the role of Area Business Group Manager, we'll count on you to:
- Develop, implement and maintain effective area business group programs
- Take responsibility for development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company
- Partner with the Water Resources and Drinking/Wastewater Market Sector Leads to development implement strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.
- Prepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets and monitor performance of area business group services. Lead area business group strategic plan implementation. Coordinate activities with company, regional and local managers.
- Facilitate area teamwork, communication and worksharing between offices, business classes, management, and staff to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitability.
- Build area business group capabilities through recruitment, mentoring, staff development, and training.
- Support development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as a key client manager.
- Monitor area business group performance indicators and implement actions and process improvements as needed.
- Monitor implementation of company policies and procedures, standards, quality assurance and risk management within business group and area.
- Participate in development and implementation of company vision and direction as member of the area team and business group.
- Facilitate project management reviews and project quality control reviews in cooperation with the professional services lead and the business class leads.
- Participate in business and community activities as a representative of HDR.
- Perform other duties as needed, including project work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experience in engineering consultation with Alaska clients
In this role, you will work closely with the Area Operations Manager, Area Business Development Leader, and technical group leads across disciplines. A commitment to continuous learning, adaptive management, and communication is required. #LI-JM8
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- A minimum of 10 years experience
- Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
