THE POSITION

Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with a passion for policy, communications, and public service? We are looking for a talented individual to serve as the First Lady's Chief of Staff, working closely with her and the Governor's team to bring her vision to life. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the First Lady's Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Collaborate & Lead: Work directly with the First Lady to shape her short- and long-term initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Governor's priorities. Liaise with key teams within the Governor's Office to effectively communicate policy goals and execute her vision.
  • Manage & Coordinate: Oversee the First Lady's calendar, coordinate logistics with the Governor's Residence and support teams, and ensure seamless execution of family and public events.
  • Engage & Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including non-profits and community organizations, to advance the First Lady's policy agenda. Represent her at meetings, events, and in her honorary roles.
  • Craft Messaging & Oversee Content: Draft talking points and correspondence, ensuring that the First Lady's voice is heard clearly and powerfully across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Travel & Advancing: Accompany the First Lady to events, providing essential support and advancing her public appearances to ensure her priorities are communicated effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Given the always-on nature of this role, work outside of regularly scheduled hours and over weekends is expected.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, communications, or a related field; and 5 years of experience in a senior-level administrative, public relations, or policy role, preferably in government, public service, or non-profit sectors with knowledge of policy processes and legislative affairs; or
  • Any equivalent experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and external stakeholders.
  • You must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must have a high level of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • You must have experience managing high-level, complex projects, with a track record of successfully coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • You must have experience managing executive calendars, meeting coordination, and logistics.
  • You must have the ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • You must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and Google Drive.
  • You must have strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • You must have the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, within a team environment.
  • You must have experience working with high-profile individuals or managing executive-level operations in a governmental or political environment.
  • You must have the ability to travel frequently and support events, including evenings and weekends.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
