By joining a team of policy experts as the Policy Director, National Medicaid Advocacy & Thought Leadership, you have the opportunity to engage in a fast paced, evolving and engaging area of health care. Our team works closely with health plans, functional partners and our government affairs colleagues to inform the broader business of emerging policy trends, establish policy positioning, build influence through advocacy and thought leadership, and support sustainable growth. As a Policy Director, National Medicaid Advocacy & Thought Leadership, you would serve as a subject matter expert with health plans, functional teams, and external partners to provide needed policy expertise, consultation and collateral on issues pertaining to Medicaid, managed care functions, emerging trends, and national and market-specific advocacy priorities. You would be accountable for developing and supporting the implementation of advocacy strategies, fostering partnerships, and helping to translate policy trends into sustainable business practices. You will also serve as a bridge to connect the deep policy and business insights with the expertise and experience of our B2B marketing influence team to develop content and strategic partnership evaluation and tracking. For this role, advocacy includes the creation of thought leadership content to support UnitedHealthcare Community & State's role as a trusted advisor. This will include policy recommendations, white papers, advocacy documents, presentations, and other ad hoc content on emerging trends and best practices to inform state and federal policies and support business growth. The person in this role must have a deep passion and affinity for Medicaid policy and cultivating external partnerships and be a solid, concise communicator. The individual should also be acutely aware of the needs of diverse audiences internally and externally and adjust messaging accordingly. This individual must also be effective at synthesizing complex policies and concepts into meaningful messages and actions. *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
