Position Title: Compliance Generalist - Community Services

Department: Compliance

Reports to: Compliance Manager - Direct Service

Location: Remote
Salary Range: $66K to $77K*

Position Overview:

The Compliance Generalist is responsible for supporting the agency-wide Compliance, HIPAA Privacy, and Security program operations, including investigations, training, and audits. This position will be responsible for reviewing all policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory body standards including but not limited to (OMH, DOH, SAMSHA, DOHMH, ACS, Hi-Trust, etc.); conduct chart reviews to ensure program operations align with government and funder requirements and addresses compliance in all areas of service delivery. The Compliance Generalist assists in developing and supporting compliance training and awareness initiatives. This position works across all Community Service programs while promoting the enterprise-wide compliance culture.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Conduct and document audits as assigned within the compliance audit work plan, which may include calls or billing audits.
  • Prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective action, monitors, and manages the completion of a corrective action plan
  • Conduct independent reviews of CRMs and processes relating to program services to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Support Vibrant with internal and external audits and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and funder requirements
  • Collaborate with Quality Improvement staff to address the challenges and needs of each department.
  • Actively participates in various compliance committees, subcommittees, and workgroups.
  • Manage investigations as assigned and complete thorough investigative reports to include but not limited to complaints, grievances, and other incidents
  • Aid individual programs in analyzing and resolving compliance-related issues
  • Assist in the preparation of key performance indicator reports.
  • Serve as a project manager for assigned compliance projects, overseeing timelines, deliverables, and collaboration
  • Attend agency Incident Review Committee meetings as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:


  • Knowledge of Federal regulations, specifically HIPAA and HHS
  • Ability to appropriately provide open, critical, and honest feedback
  • Superior documentation and report-writing skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a self-starter
  • Capable of working efficiently within a team
  • Advanced skills with the MS Office Suite


Data Analysis and Reporting:


  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize data to identify compliance trends, risks, and areas of improvement.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining dashboards to track compliance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to present compliance-related findings effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail in data collection, ensuring accuracy and consistency in compliance reporting.
  • Ability to generate reports and summaries that support data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Capacity to collaborate with programs to enhance data-driven compliance monitoring strategies.


Managing/Directing Work (if applicable):


  • Superior communication skills to convey information in various forms


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Preferred in Non-Profit Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or another relevant discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the compliance field, preferably in the human service field.
  • 5+ years working in the human services industry
  • 3+ years of experience in behavioral/mental health or healthcare auditing
  • Fluency in the English language, both oral and written
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus.
  • Experience working in a crisis call center is highly favorable.


Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Will constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Will frequently communicate over video calls with internal and external stakeholders
