Overview

As a lead Java Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technology landscape for Corporate Bank Operations and Client Services by developing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, optimize business processes, and transform the corporate banking viewpoint on the role of technology. You will be responsible for architecting and building scalable, efficient, and secure solutions, leveraging modern technologies such as microservices, cloud platforms, and DevOps tools.

Working as part of Deutsche Bank's Operations and Client Services technology team in New York, you will help deliver automation solutions, introduce shared platforms, and address architectural gaps to align with business-driven outcomes. Your work will enable Client Services and Operations teams to manage end-to-end flows seamlessly on integrated global platforms across multiple product domains, Deutsche Bank is investing heavily in technology, which means we are investing in you. What You'll Do

  • Develop and Design: Build microservices-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful application programming interface (APIs)

  • Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code and set standards for junior engineers

  • Cloud & DevOps: Deploy applications on physical and cloud infrastructure and work with continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CI/CD) tools

  • Agile Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to ensure that changes consider the full spectrum of the organization's architecture and integrate new services seamlessly

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with product owners and architects to define technical solutions that meet business objectives

How You'll Lead

  • Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor junior developers, ensuring adherence to best coding practices

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Engage with business teams, architects, and the greater technology organization to drive technology decisions

  • Strategic Contribution: Influence engineering best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes

Skills You'll Need

  • Lead development/engineering role with Extensive experience

  • Extensive hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture in an enterprise setting

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Global Control Programme (GCP)) and experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud

  • Experience working in agile software development environments

  • Strong written and spoken English skills

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
