Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Our Product Specialist is responsible for the technical, applications, and marketing support of Thornton TOC products by supporting the Product Manager in future product development projects and maintaining active products, marketing content development, and supporting customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Product Manager through technical product knowledge and serve as an expert for the product lines (6000TOCi, 4000TOCe, and 450TOC).
  • Identifying systematic issues affecting TOC product line health, specifically with respect to product quality and manufacturability, and providing recommendations to make measurable improvements.
  • Assisting the Product Manager with documentation, including editing and supplying new content for hardware and software user manuals and other customer-facing collateral.
  • Performing validation testing for new hardware and software introduction within the product development lifecycle.
  • Working closely with R&D, manufacturing teams, and external partners to execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve KPIs, including gaps where product/prototype performance does not meet required feature specifications.
  • Working closely with the Product Manager and MarCom team to develop the necessary plans and materials for successful product launches.
  • Supporting the Applications and global technical support teams with product-related topics/questions/issues and addressing customer issues with various stakeholders to drive an efficient and effective solution for the customer and the organization.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's in science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related applied science field.
  • 2+ years' experience with analytical instruments, product analytical technology as an applications chemist, or product specialist.
  • Working understanding of organic chemistry and analytical methods.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to customer sites or conferences.
