About the Opportunity

EnergyHub is looking for a Dispatch Operations Coordinator to support our team in managing dispatch events. This role focuses on improving our dispatch management process to maximize customer participation and ensure seamless execution. This position offers hands-on experience in energy markets, demand response, and real-time operations while contributing to a key business function.

As a Dispatch Operations Coordinator, you will be on the "front lines" of managing EnergyHub's response to market dispatches that are critical for maintaining the reliability of the electric grid. A core part of your responsibilities will be being "on call" during the stated working hours to ingest, triage, and execute dispatches, often with limited oversight.



  • Pay rate: $20-$25/hr
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, including occasional weekend work
  • Location: Remote - West Coast
  • Working hours: Must be available for weekend dispatches and for dispatches that may occur from 4p- 10p PT; Opportunity for flexible working hours to accommodate this
  • Seasonal Term: May through October


Main Responsibilities: What you'll do



  • Dispatch Management: Analyze and optimize the dispatch management process to increase customer participation and operational efficiency.
  • Market Operations Support: Assist in compiling and submitting market nominations, day-ahead bids, and reporting files, ensuring compliance with market deadlines.
  • Dispatch Execution: Help coordinate internal communication to ensure flawless dispatch events and follow escalation policies where needed.
  • Market Participation Monitoring: Track market activity and recommend actions to maintain compliance.
  • Grid Monitoring Enhancement: Contribute to internal tracking systems to prepare teams for critical dispatch events.
  • Customer Support: Assist in tracking and resolving customer inquiries related to dispatches.
  • Process Improvement: Document lessons learned and recommend improvements to workflows.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Take ownership of reporting tools and conduct ad hoc analysis to support dispatch operations.
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience: What you need



  • Interest in grid stability and/or the climate tech industry, with an ambition to learn quickly in a hands-on role.
  • Operations-minded; 0-2 years experience in an operational setting.
  • Fluent working experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency with R, and/or SQL scripting.
  • Experience with using initiative to drive projects to resolution and seek guidance when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with details in a commercial setting.
  • Ability to identify and appropriately productize our most pressing needs.
  • Demonstrated diligence and a well-organized approach to work.
  • Access to a quiet, disturbance-free environment with reliable internet access.
  • Experience successfully working in a remote environment.


Preferred Skills and Experience: Nice-to-haves



  • Experience working with real-time reportable events in a regulated environment.

The salary range of this opportunity is listed belowand is determined within a range based on factors including qualifications, location and experience. This allows opportunity for growth and development within the role. The salary offered is part of a total compensation package.
