This job provides operational management of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) residency/fellowship program(s) as assigned. Oversees regulatory compliance, recruitment activities, developing projects, and human resources functions including maintaining databases to ensure program(s) compliance. Continually assesses and directs a wide range of programmatic tasks/topics such as long range planning and communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of program requirements and needs.

Education

Required - High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in healthcare and/or business administration, education leadership, or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 5 years of direct or relevant experience in Graduate Medical Education

OR

3 years of direct or relevant experience in Graduate Medical Education or related professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in healthcare and/or business administration, education leadership or related field.

Certifications
Preferred - Certification Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage projects that require working independently with minimal supervision, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.

  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work flexible schedule, such as nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of program(s) as assigned. Interprets and applies ACGME, other national accrediting agencies, and hospital policies to ensure and support compliance.

  • Provides both administrative supervision and support to House Staff. Establishes relationships and acts as a liaison to other sites, internal departments, and divisions, regarding resident recruitment, orientation, and external rotations.

  • Maintains accuracy for GME Residency Management System (RMS) New Innovations for programs of responsibility as assigned.

  • Manages the evaluative processes of the trainees, faculty, rotations and program.

  • Maintains oversight and management for application database Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and oversees its processes during residency recruitment season.

  • Maintains GME database applications to includeAccreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), GME Track, National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and others as identified ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Plans and manages departmental annual events including recruitment, orientation, graduation, as well as various meetings and program-related events.

  • Prepares and executes scheduled ACGME site visits, self study, and Special Review Processes (SRP).

  • Monitors programs as assigned Clinical and Educational Work Hours and Operative/Case Log experience via regular review of data reports.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
