The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services, Loysville Youth Development Center is searching for a dedicated Clerical Assistant 2 to provide quality clerical support at our facility. This position is responsible for performing clerical work including typing, account management, filing, receptionist duties, and the application of independent judgment in performing these tasks in an organization that takes pride in helping youth.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2 in this position, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of clerical duties including preparing reports, letters, forms, evaluations, and all other materials deemed necessary by administrative and technical staff in order to ensure clear, professional and effective communication for the residential program. Proofreads typed materials to ensure the transfer of information is typographically and grammatically correct and complete. The predominant expectation for this position includes critical editing of a myriad of reports which are then submitted to the respective Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Systems. The editing process involves interpretation of data presented in several different disciplines, responsible for producing an accurate execution of the data and must be able to resolve any conflicting information among the disciplines within the completed report. Must be able to apply critical thinking skills so that all information being distributed to the courts systems is presented professionally and accurately, without inconsistencies. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Hours may change based on operational needs.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: After completing the probationary period, you may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Loysville, Perry County.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $35,306 (before taxes). -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement (NSRs):
- This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
