DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will provide administrative oversight of the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) treatment and survey programs for the Commonwealth and provide professional expertise in areas including survey methodology, identification, biology, economic importance and control. You will present results of SLF activities in reports and public presentations and work with contractors to ensure that program goals and objectives are met.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an Entomologist 2 or as a Botany and Weed Specialist, Agriculture (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree in entomology or a related field and four years of regulatory entomology experience; or
  • A master's degree in entomology or a related field and three years of regulatory entomology experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
