DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Employment Vocational Assistant, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating the employment process for inmates. You will be involved in maintaining accurate records of inmate receptions, discharges, cell assignments, and job assignments. You will also assist in updating and maintaining the Inmate Information System and the Inmate Bed Assignment System, as well as processing monthly payroll and maintaining a master list of all work assignments. In addition, you will visit work sites within the institution to observe inmates on job assignments and address any issues with work supervisors. Your role will also involve collecting data for reentry initiatives under the guidance of the Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
