Position Summary:

The Director, Global HR/IT Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), specifically focusing on optimizing Workday (WD) functionality. This role ensures that the HRIS effectively supports the organization's business objectives, enhances user experience, and ensures data integrity & security. The Director will oversee a team of HR IT professionals, lead HR IT initiatives through their entire end-to-end lifecycle, while ensuring the ongoing operational support of the system. Responsibilities include managing the application roadmap, budget, vendor relationships, and demand management to align with business goals and user experience. This position requires an experienced thought leader to manage, support, and drive the evolution of Workday and its supporting ecosystem, which spans Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and IT functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

* Stakeholder and Team Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Executive Leadership, aligning HRIS initiatives with business objectives.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Workday system, monitor team performance, provide mentorship, and foster skill development.
  • Cultivate an inspiring team environment with open communication and clear, aligned goals.
  • Delegate tasks, ensure deadlines are met, and anticipate training needs for staff development.

* System Management:

  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday modules including HCM, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll & Timekeeping, Absence, Reporting & Integrations, and Recruiting & Talent Management.
  • Leverage HRIS and Workday expertise to understand business needs and identify technology solutions to streamline operations.
  • Design, develop, and enhance the Workday platform to meet evolving business requirements. Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Plan and execute HRIS roadmap and projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Manage upgrades, enhancements, testing, validation, and performance monitoring of the system. Analyze new software releases to evaluate the impact of new features.
  • Lead the development and execution of future Workday buildouts, including defining requirements, configuring solutions, managing testing, and training users on new processes and tools.
  • Address business and technology challenges related to the implementation and support of Workday, Finance, and Operations.

* Data Integrity & Security:

  • Implement and maintain robust data governance strategies, including validation, cleansing, and enrichment practices.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure adherence to security standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Monitor system usage and perform regular security assessments to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure security awareness among Workday users, reinforcing compliance with data protection protocols.

* Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to resolve system-related issues and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly, ensuring service level agreements align with project timelines and operational requirements.
  • Manage contracts and service agreements with Workday and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with terms and timely renewals.
  • Monitor vendor spend against the allocated HRIS budget.

* Reporting & Analytics:

  • Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders, including dashboards, charts, and graphs.
  • Utilize analytics to provide insights and support decision-making, partnering with HR to analyze trends and create solutions to address business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and assist with audits and reviews.

* Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within HR/IT systems and programs.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies in HR/IT.
  • Continuously assess and improve reporting processes, implementing best practices for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-10 years related experience and/or training.
  • College Level Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
  • Other Required Skills.

Preferred:

  • Ability to display a willingness to make decisions.
  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
  • Ability to exhibit sound and accurage judgment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
  • Hands on configuration of core Workday modules.
  • Hands on experience leading, modifying, testing, and supporting existing system functionality inline with bi-annual Workday Releases (March/September).
  • Leading, designing, executing, and supporting the configuration and troubleshooting of business processes in, HCM, Payroll, Advanced compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, and/or Talent Management.
  • Experience leading the development, configuration, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of new projects, enhancements, and interfaces.
  • Workday HCM certification(s) or progress toward.
  • SHRM certification or progress toward.
