The purpose of this role is to engage in project management, audit coordination activities, and support accounting operations for the intersegment accounting team.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Own project management efforts for the intersegment accounting team and lead initiatives related to new processes or process improvements
  • Manage and complete intersegment audit requests, and coordinate all requests within the team from internal or external auditors
  • Own intersegment business process documentation (process flows, controls, etc.)
  • Coordination and communication between various areas of the team for the efficient and timely execution of close processes (domestic and offshore)
  • Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, SAP, Company policies, rules, regulations, and laws
  • Support accounting operational activities, including intersegment rates, membership, and journal entry processes throughout the month
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and review monthly controls and reporting
  • Prepare / review complex journal entries as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Core understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Essbase, and SAS
  • Experience with audit coordination and project management
  • Work history working in the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrates sound business knowledge and solid decision-making skills
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel
  • Proven effective data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrates the drive and motivation to deliver high quality results based on thorough analysis
  • Demonstrates solid communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven ability to gain acceptance for ideas, plans, actions and then implement flawlessly across organizational boundaries
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
