Job Summary
The
SAP Technical Architect plays a critical role in shaping the IT strategy and architecture for an S/4 HANA solution. This position will provide leadership in the design and implementation of SAP S/4 HANA architecture, ensuring that the transition from legacy systems to the new platform is aligned with business needs and technical standards. The SAP Technical Architect will work closely with the Government Program team and business users to gather requirements, define architecture, and create a comprehensive roadmap for successful implementation. This individual will also provide governance over the technical design and execution of the S/4 HANA strategy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of IT strategy and architecture for an S/4 HANA solution, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems.
- Collaborate with business users and the Government Program team to gather and document current business requirements.
- Develop and document the S/4 HANA IT Strategy, architecture, and roadmap based on functional requirements.
- Create architectural artifacts, including as-is and to-be Enterprise, Business, Data, Application, and Technology architectures, while considering integration points for non-SAP and 3rd party products.
- Develop and assist in creating governance structures and processes for SAP S/4 HANA architecture and strategy.
- Define and document an implementation roadmap that outlines the transition from the current to the future state of SAP S/4 HANA.
- Support IT change management activities and ensure alignment of technical and functional requirements.
- Provide guidance on SAP best practices and governance standards for SAP S/4 HANA projects.
- Ensure technical solutions are scalable, secure, and adhere to SAP standards and best practices.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must possess at least one DOD 8570 certification: GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP, CCNA-security
- Must possess a qualified certification in a computing environment
- Minimum of 3+ years of recent experience with SAP (within the past 5 years), including hands-on work with SAP S/4 HANA architecture.
- Participation in at least 3 SAP S/4 HANA engagement projects within the last 5 years.
Required Skills
- Experience in the design, development, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of IT systems based on SAP solutions.
- Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), including architectural design and managed services in a cloud environment.
- In-depth understanding of SAP ERP integration points and solid knowledge of SAP integration tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to proactively identify opportunities, make recommendations, and mentor others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability in conducting requirements gathering, solution design, and hands-on build and implementation.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience in the design and development of architectural documents for S/4 HANA implementations.
- Strong knowledge of core SAP S/4 HANA ERP functionality and processes, including procurement, sales, finance, inventory, and manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of SAP ERP integration points and integration tools within S/4 HANA, including non-SAP and third-party tools.
- Experience developing and assisting in the creation of IT strategy, architecture, and governance processes for SAP S/4 HANA.
- Proficient in requirements gathering, solution design, hands-on build, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication skills to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to document and present architectural strategies clearly and concisely.
Security Clearance
- Active Secret clearance preferred.
