Description

Provides services associated with assessing and valuing new business opportunities for an organization. This position partners with business units and provides strategic support to senior management in preparation for budgeting, new business opportunities, analysis, performance metrics and providing support to the EVP/Chief Financial Officer's board presentation materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Five (5) years of experience in managing an accounting function required.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge and experience with financial/PC based
    accounting system(s)
  • May be required to travel to agency locations in the Chicagoland area.


Fiscal Strategy
a. Oversees and leads the continued development of budgeting, financial
forecasting, and key performance metrics aligned with strategic initiatives.
b. Analysis utilization and contract performance as well as suggest alternative
revenue or operational changes to enhance financial performance.
c. Supports the budgeting process to include all annual operational budgets,
financial forecasting and planning, cost reporting, interpreting trends and
variances of financial results.
d. Oversees and monitors the financial forecasts, financial models, and cost
performance.
e. Generates and performs monthly financial statement analysis and work with
appropriate programs for any corrective action, if necessary.
f. Provides input and strategic solutions to assist business partners in being
fiscal stewards throughout operations; advises senior leadership on existing
and evolving operating/financial issues.
g. Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and
timely financial recommendations to management for decision making
purposes: exercises sound judgement and makes well informed decisions.

functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance; possesses
strong knowledge of GAAP and the nonprofit business environment.
b. Communicates financial concepts in a clear and productive manner that is
easy to understand and drives desired behaviors; listens effectively and
facilitates open communication and exchange of ideas.
c. Provides standard and ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed; possesses
strong analytical skills and the ability to detect variances, gaps and financial
trends and proposes actions to ensure budget compliance.

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in a business, financial, or related field required.


Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Master's degree in a business, financial, or related field preferred
  • (10) years of experience in managing an accounting function preferred
