GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The material handlers are responsible to load and unload trucks, track and control inventory, issue material to production, and move inventory items within the plant and inter-plant. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Keyword: Material, Handler, Shelter, DoD Required Experience: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards. Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors. Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary. Ability to adhere to workplace rules. Ability to perform basic math/reading/writing skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-year experience in a related field. Basic computer skills required. Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license. Perform responsibilities and complete transactions in AS400 and paperwork per procedures for: Receiving Stocking Receipts Material Pulls Material Returns Assist with physical inventory activities, including cycle counts, measurements, and raw material counts. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation. Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools). Ability to liftiup to 50 pounds. Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors large fans). Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak or listen.
