Description
About the Role As the Assistant Plant Manager at Nature's Path, you'll lead daily operations at our Blaine, WA manufacturing facility, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient food production. You'll oversee production, warehouse, and safety teams-driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and aligning plant performance with company objectives. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll be a key leader in shaping the future success of the plant. Location: Blaine, WA Salary: $145,000 - $170,000 base + 20% bonus Up to 15% travel required within North America (1-2 trips per year) What You'll Do Operational Leadership * Optimize Production & Efficiency - Ensure production meets quality, cost, and food safety standards while implementing best practices in GMPs, SOPs, TQM, and LEAN manufacturing. * Maximize Equipment Performance - Oversee preventive maintenance programs to enhance machinery reliability and reduce downtime. * Lead New Product Integration - Manage the operational launch of new products, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution. People & Team Development * Build & Develop High-Performing Teams - Mentor and empower managers and team leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and growth. * Engage & Inspire Employees - Lead with a servant leadership mindset, creating a positive and productive work environment. * Invest in Training & Development - Ensure employees receive the necessary training to meet both current and future operational needs. Financial & Resource Management * Drive Cost Efficiency - Work with the Plant Manager to optimize resources, reduce waste, and improve profitability. * Monitor Financial Performance - Track operational budgets, ensuring financial goals align with business objectives. Safety & Quality Commitment * Champion Workplace Safety - Lead by example, enforcing safety protocols and overseeing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance. * Uphold Quality Standards - Ensure all employees are trained to maintain the highest levels of food safety and quality assurance. Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. * 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations (preferably in the food industry). * Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Six Sigma preferred). * Deep understanding of safety, compliance, and food production standards. * Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and optimizing resources.
