You will assist the EFS Segment in meeting its strategic goals through continuous improvement activities.This will include leading and supporting kaizen events, Lean work cell design, standard product design revisions, cost improvement projects, development of standardized work, DMAIC projects, development of automation and machining capability, capital expenditure projects, and supply chain initiatives.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership to the manufacturing engineers within the facility through: providing training options, professional development, and personal growth opportunities.
- Supervision responsibilities to include, but are not limited to providing real-time coaching, mid-year and annual reviews, and creating a cohesive team environment.
- Partnering with other departments in key projects and as a change agent where necessary, as a leader on the manufacturing campus.
- Plan and perform a variety of duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment and facilities.
- Review new product designs for integration onto the production floor.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental requests.
- Advise and assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting equipment problems and machine repairs.
- Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and plant efficiency improvements.
- Support on existing projects as well as the coordination, implementation, and planning of new projects.Specify and assist in the purchase of new capital equipment.
- Interaction with design engineering, planning, production, purchasing, and operations management on new part introduction to the shop floor. Develop cost routings for both new and existing products.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, gaging, instructional aids, improved layouts, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideally 5+ years in a manufacturing environment including supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a team environment
- Good problem solving ability
- Detail oriented, good organizational skills
- AutoCAD skills required, SolidWorks skills preferred
- CNC knowledge heavily preferred
- Travel required on an as needed basis to support production improvements and project requirements
