The Account Follow-Up Lead is responsible for assisting the Billing Supervisor in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Account Follow-Up unit in the Revenue Cycle Department.



Responsibilities

    Assist Supervisor to develop and implement productivity standards, work methods and procedures for the staff.
  • Make recommendations to BSupervisor for possible work efficiencies within the department.
  • Review, interpret and report rules and regulations that affect department to management.
  • Understand payer contract language and be able to operationalize.
  • Monitor websites, attend seminars or webinars that would help in training staff
  • Review work queues to prioritize account follow activities (account/payment status, verify and update patient information).


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years healthcare experience
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse, navigate computer programs, and use email in a business setting.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred:

  • Able to train others to retrieve active and purged data, remittance advices.
  • Strong knowledge of UB-04 and HCFA 1500 Data Elements and payor requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously despite interruptions and ability to communicate workload status and conflicts.
  • Able to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff and external customers.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $26.48 to $37.70 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
