Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Financial Analyst (Clean Energy) position includes responsibilities related to financial and economic modelling, analysis and general support for the Hawaii Gas Clean Energy group, as well as working collaboratively with the Finance team on related initiatives. This position includes the refreshing and maintenance of the company-wide fuel supply management spreadsheet, support for current and future projects and greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fuel Supply

    Update and maintain the company-wide fuel supply management spreadsheet, including continually improving the reliability of data and efficiency of tracking the information, including automating inputs, results and other aspects of the file (data scraping, collection).
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to regularly identify, understand supply requirements and constraints and build them into the model.
  • Provide reports and feedback to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Present findings and analysis of data based on the fuel supply spreadsheet tool.

Gas Supply Scenarios

  • Update and maintain the gas supply scenarios spreadsheet.
  • Collaborate with operations leaders and the head of the Clean Energy team to identify and understand supply options and constraints and build them into the model.
  • Provide and present feedback to key stakeholders and do scenarios analyses.

Economic Evaluations

  • Update and maintain economic evaluation models for existing projects.
  • Prepare and screen economic models for new projects and provide data to external providers working on economic evaluations.
  • Undertake scenario analyses as directed.

Green House Gas/Ad Hoc Analysis/Other

  • Assist with data collection for greenhouse gas analyses.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team and provide support for special projects and other ad hoc analyses as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with all safety rules and cooperates in the fullest in the promotion of safety and safe work habits, to include the reporting of any unsafe conditions or acts. Maintains all EH&S training on a current basis.
  • Complies with all applicable corporate and Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.
  • Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed. Works in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as instructed by manager.


Qualifications

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance or at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with or ability to create and run macros, as well as gather data from diverse sources, including the internet.
