Milliman is seeking a Process and Operations Specialist to join our Health Research Team (HRT). This is a multifaceted role that combines responsibilities in operations and process management, project management, product licensing and fulfillment, and other general tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exhibit excellent communication abilities. The person in this role will have direct, daily client contact with numerous Health Research Team members, other Milliman professionals, and outside contacts (on occasion). This position reports to the Health Research Team's Senior Manager, Operations.

The Health Research Team supports Milliman products and practices in a variety of capacities. These include but are not limited to financial functions, client support, project management, data engineering, and data analytics services. As a shared service team, we pride ourselves in delivering high quality, timely support to Milliman's clients, consultants, and leadership teams.

Job Responsibilities

Operations and Process Management:



  • Monitor and analyze operational processes to identify and implement areas for improvement, driving efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient workflows to enhance accuracy and streamline operations.
  • Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across all facets of operations.


Project Management:



  • Lead and support special projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage concurrent projects with a focus on meeting deadlines, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate project meetings, providing meaningful input and asking value-add questions to drive project success and completion.


Product Licensing and Fulfillment:



  • Oversee end-to-end product licensing and fulfillment, including tracking and renewal of licenses.
  • Ensure all licensing agreements and associated documents are properly executed and maintained to meet compliance standards.


Support special projects and initiatives as assigned

Minimum requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, operations management, project management, or related field
  • 10 years of proven work experience in an operations role, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment
  • Experience writing process documentation
  • Experience analyzing operational processes and implementing operational process improvements
  • Experience managing and leading projects
  • Experience leading the onboarding of new associates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Detailed-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality

Location: This role is based out of the Milliman office in Chicago, IL, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US or in the office on a weekly basis with flexible work arrangements.

Salary: The salary range is $73,000 - $144,000 depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
