We are seeking an EMS Liaison/Paramedic at St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare.

The EMS Liaison/Paramedic will serve as a vital link between our health system and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. This position advocates for the hospital within private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies to strengthen partnerships and enhance collaboration.

Additional responsibilities include:

Facilitating communication and cooperation across various care settings within the facility concerning EMS and public safety relations.
• Being directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department, following the direction of the physician.
• Communicating effectively with the medical team regarding any changes in patients' clinical conditions.
• Responding swiftly and accurately to changes in patient status and treatment responses.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient care and seamless integration between EMS and the hospital.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Missouri.

2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. PALS and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

6. 1 year EMS outreach experience preferred; 3 years EMS clinical experience preferred.
