Manager of Facilities Engineering Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
- Implements Inova Health System safety programs in order to maintain a culture of safety for both residents and team members.
- Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationship accordingly.
- Coordinates and monitors the development of long range plans and annual budgets for buildings/facilities function.
- Administers fire protection and building automation system programs to comply with city, county and The Joint Commission requirements while ensuring safety and comfort for building occupants.
- Coordinates survey readiness activities for federal, state and voluntary surveys.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates, through a staff of skilled/semiskilled/unskilled trade personnel, activities concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance and construction of facilities, equipment, buildings and grounds to minimize interruption and improve efficiency.
- Schedules tasks, equipment and personnel to ensure the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, HVAC, fire/life safety, etc.
- Prepares construction specifications/plans by obtaining advice from Engineering Consultants, assembling and analyzing contract bids and submitting bids/recommendations to senior leadership for action.
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Manager of Facilities Engineering Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: Full-time Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related field
- Experience: 3 years of experience in facilities management field AND 2 years of supervisory experience
- Certification: Stationary Engineer's license or professional certificate such as an electrician, plumber or contractor
- Licensure: Valid driver's license
