JOB SUMMARY This position performs all aspects of EMT duties, as well as providing continuous evaluation of assigned employees' job performance through observation and skill testing. This position provides on-the-job training to new employees and remedial training for employees with performance deficiencies ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES *Trains probationary employees and remedial training for assigned employees; mentors EMS students of all levels; answers questions for other crews. *Provides problem-solving assistance to less-experienced employees. *Assists in the coordination of the daily and weekly schedule. *Files regular progress reports on employees in training to the Operations Supervisors and Operations Manager. *Ensures compliance with federal, state and local standards, contractual requirements, and established operational and safety policies and procedures. *Assists with the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and guidelines which promote sound patient care, customer service, employee health and safety, and limits-minimizes risk and liability. *Verifies that units are clean, in working order, appropriately stocked and outfitted to comply with local, county, state, and federal requirements and Company standards. *Verifies that buildings and grounds are clean and well kept. Implements programs which ensure cleanliness and readiness for duty of Ambulances and Stations/Posts. Assists with testing, evaluation, and selection of equipment and supplies. *Conducts community health and safety, employee quality assurance/performance reviews, education and training. *Provides on-boarding of new hire EMT/Paramedic staff, including company policies, protocols, skills assessment, customer service requirements, company culture, etc. *Assists with providing New Employee Orientation training in such a manner that new employees receive comprehensive exposure and instruction to ensure ongoing quality and employee satisfaction. *Ensures compliance with local policies and Medical Direction requirements governing New Employee Orientation Programs. *Conducts ongoing safety training and education as directed by Corporate Safety Management. *Assists in the development and implementation of training programs. Monitors EMT Basic/Paramedic students as a preceptor. *Assists with maintenance of an accurate log of employee certifications. *Mentors and reviews EMT Basic/Paramedic students and team members. *Works collaboratively with the Operations & Communications personnel to make certain all run reports are completed to standard prior to an employee's departure from a shift. *Ensures all necessary patient care documentation and billing documentation is completed within specified timeframes, that patient documentation standards meet clinical standards as set forth by the Medical Director. *Understands, supports, and enforces Lifeguard's philosophies and policies. *Assists with and/or lead special projects and assignments as requested by Operations Manager, Regional or Executive Leadership. *Seeks and collects input and ideas regarding service improvement from all employees and customers. *Attends FTO Meetings as necessary. *Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and members of the medical and EMS community; effectively communicate and make prompt and accurate decisions to help achieve company goals.
