- Hybrid role: onsite expectations 3 days per week.
Job Summary: Responsible for general accounting duties related to Capital Assets, Leases and other financial areas as assigned. The position assists in the month-end close, completes account reconciliations, and prepares monthly variance analysis and commentary to senior management. The position will support operations including Facilities and Property Management teams. The position will prepare appropriate documentation for internal and external audits. Also, assist in annual surveys for capital spend and ad hoc project reporting within the ERP system. What you will do: General Accounting Responsibilities:
- Perform all month-end accounting entries for Capital Assets, Leases and other financial areas as assigned including real estate taxes.
- Work with capital project owners during all stages of assigned capital projects from request of capital funds in OpenMarkets system to project creation and maintenance in the Workday ERP system.
- Review capital projects for purchase order or invoice issues prior to asset capitalization and assist with troubleshooting solutions within Workday.
- Ensure compliance with Endeavor Health Capital Asset Accounting Management Policy in accordance with GAAP.
- Administer the LeaseQuery/FinQuery lease system and oversee files sent to Workday on a monthly basis alongside the Property Management team.
- Monitor payment of real estate taxes for Endeavor Health owned properties and maintain system schedule on a monthly basis.
- Prepare account reconciliations for all GL accounts as assigned.
- Analyze and explain significant budget variances for assigned financial areas for both the current period and year-to-date activity.This involves detailed research of variances and can include written and verbal correspondence to understand the underlying variances.
- Assist with preparation of year-end Audit and annual surveys for capital spend.
- Serve as a resource for other accounting staff members and Endeavor Health department heads; responds to questions related to general accounting of assigned financial areas.
- Initiate process improvements within the Capital Accounting area and other efficiencies within the department.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, required.
- Certification: CPA or MBA preferred
- Experience: minimum 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of capital assets and lease accounting.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Possess strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills.
- Extensive experience with an ERP system, Workday preferred.
- Extensive experience with a lease accounting system, LeaseQuery/FinQuery preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel and/or other spreadsheet and database applications is required.
