Pay rate: $29-31/hr - Depending on Education and Experience

Shift:

Flexible hours, approximately 30 - 40 hours per week depending on the candidate.
All work will be day time between 7 AM and - 5 PM.

Typical Day:

A typical day for the Cocoa Technician involves preparing samples for testing, conducting various analytical tests, recording and analyzing data, and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment. The candidate will be required to maintain a clean working space in a laboratory setting. The technician will also handle administrative tasks such as data entry and report generation.

Summary:

We are seeking a Cocoa Technician to join our team on a short-term contract basis.
The successful candidate will support lab scale beans process, analytical testing, and administrative tasks related to cocoa ingredients.

This role is ideal for someone with a general knowledge of biology and or chemistry and an interest in cocoa and chocolate products. Understanding of basic GMP principles is appreciated. Maintain safe, sanitary and efficient laboratory workspace. The candidate should have a can-do attitude with a desire to learn. The technician will be managing the receiving and testing of ingredient samples; ability to maintain an organized process and documentation is required. A basic knowledge of Excel is a plus.

Top Three Technical Skills:

1. Ability to consistent and accurately complete preparation of samples for analytical testing.
2. Experience with laboratory equipment, laboratory setting, or commercial kitchen setting.
3. Strong sense of organization, complemented by data entry and report generation skills.

Must Haves (i.e., years of experience?):

  • Can-do attitude and strong work ethic
  • Coachable with a desire to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • It should be noted that a technical degree is not required, it would be preferred for this assignment.



Software Skills and Purpose (if applicable):
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry and report generation.



Industry Experience:
  • Experience in the food science, analytical testing, microbiological testing or confectionery industry is a plus..
