The Job at a Glance

The Director, Product Management for Innovation Hub will lead the discovery, validation, and rapid development of breakthrough innovations aligned with the company's strategic vision. This role is focused on exploring net-new opportunities, experimenting with emerging technologies and disruptive business models, and bringing early-stage innovations to life.

You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of innovation initiatives, from trend exploration and ideation to rapid prototyping and validation-moving beyond incremental product improvements to develop transformative solutions. Acting as the principal liaison between business, technology, and external partners, you will foster cross-functional collaboration while driving strategic initiatives with a startup mindset.

A Typical Day

  • Identify white-space opportunities and market trends by researching industry shifts, emerging technologies, and disruptive business models
  • Define clear objectives and hypotheses for each initiative, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals
  • Rapidly experiment with new concepts through proof-of-concept (POC) development, rapid prototyping, and iterative testing
  • Foster a culture of bold experimentation, embracing failure as a learning opportunity to refine ideas
  • Lead user testing sessions to collect real-world insights and refine prototypes based on usability and functionality feedback
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of innovation projects-documenting, presenting, measuring, and integrating learnings into future strategies
  • Serve as the lead product owner on large cross-divisional initiatives, ensuring all product stories align with the broader innovation roadmap
  • Collaborate with internal and external innovation partners to source and accelerate groundbreaking ideas
  • Regularly update executive leadership and stakeholders on progress, pivots, and key insights from experimentation
  • Stay ahead of the curve by continuously exploring emerging trends in AI, IoT, automation, and data-driven business models
  • Actively participate in innovation workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and industry events to cultivate an external innovation ecosystem

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have5+ years of experience in product innovation, venture building, R&D, or innovation-focused roles
  • You have proven success in bringing a new product, service, or business model to market-not just improving existing products
  • You're an expert in innovation methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD)
  • You thrive in ambiguity, tackling open-ended challenges with creativity and structured experimentation
  • You have a strong entrepreneurial mindset-you think like a startup founder and take ownership of breakthrough ideas
  • You obtain exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate technical, business, and user challenges
  • You obtain strong influencing and relationship-building skills-you can bridge gaps between business and technology teams
  • You have outstanding communication and presentation skills-you make complex ideas easy to understand
  • You have experience in emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, AR/VR, IoT, automation, etc.) is a strong plus
  • You are a natural trend-spotter-you connect dots across industries to identify disruptive opportunities before they become mainstream

At Parts Town, we value transparency and are committed to ensuring our team members feel appreciated and supported. The salary range for this role is $123,600.04 - 185,065.82 annually which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay for performance-company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, employee assistance programs, paid time off, paid sick time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and professional development opportunities.
