Vice President Investment Banking
The Vice President -- Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Placements will be responsible for executing the structuring and arrangement of M&A and other Private Placements activities in partnership with the Managing Directors and Directors on various transactions or administrative operations.
Position Responsibilities
Deal Team


  • Works with the Managing Directors and Directors to execute on mandates won. This ranges from due diligence up, running the bank meetings and on through documentation to assure timely closing. Will help coordinate the work of the Vice Presidents and Associates and others on particular deals.
  • Develops and maintains excellent internal/external client relationships.
  • Beginning to contribute to divisional revenue generation and profitability through new business generation.
  • Understands the impact of expenses on the bank's bottom line and acts accordingly.
  • Enhance the customer experience as demonstrated through the voice of the customer, and referrals, including referrals from customers.


Risk Management


  • Demonstrates risk behaviors that align with Comerica's risk appetite.
  • Vets potential risks of a situation and apply appropriate mitigants and continue to monitor effectively going forward.
  • Ensures operational activities and controls are followed to aid in minimizing various risk elements.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Maintains proper individual licensing requirements.


Training


  • Supports the training, development, and capabilities of the junior staff.
  • Leads by example within the team and is a role model for junior staff.
  • Supports a collaborative, team-based environment and supports the development of junior staff.
  • Shares credit with others for their contributions.


Daily Operations


  • Assists resolving issues in the daily activity of various deals.
  • Works with customers to ensure smooth closings of transactions.


Position Qualifications


  • 6+ years experience of progressive experience in Banking or the Financial Services industry
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in M&A and/or Private Placements
  • Series 7, 63, and 79

Work Best Category: Category B - 3-4 days in office on designated days/1-2 days remote Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
