Job Description
  • Assist Chef with proper receiving and putting away of deliveries according to proper HAACP protocols. Inform chef of any issues with delivery in a timely manner; (i.e-damaged goods delivered, missing items, etc.)

    * Ability to safely lift a minimum of 45lbs from the floor to waist height repeatedly.

    * Be able to demonstrate basic knife skills and recipe conversions.

    * Assist with transportation of prepared meals and supplies between shelter sites for our clients.

    * Assist the chef in picking up necessary supplies and ingredients from food suppliers utilizing a pre-approved company purchase card.

    * Will oversee prep, cooking, and transportation of meals between shelter sites when Chef is out. Will be able to create own meals with guidance from Chef to provide nutritious and balanced meals for clients.

    * Follow proper closing and breakdown procedures to ensure the kitchen and equipment are well maintained based upon provided checklists.

    * Report and equipment malfunction, food/cleaning inventory issues to Chef in a timely manner to allow a prompt response and resolution to any issues.

    * Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

One year minimum kitchen experience preferred. Will train right candidate

Valid Driver's License

Reliable mode of transportation with current vehicle insurance to help transport food and supplies between sites
