Integration & Test Deputy Chief Engineer- Surveillance Radars

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is adding a Deputy Chief Engineer for the Integration and Test discipline to our Surveillance team to partner with leadership in the development and execution of the technical baseline of the Surveillance radar portfolio. A technical subject matter expert in the radar development engineering field, Chief Engineers drive the processes that govern the technical management of projects across the organization and ensure strong development rigor is applied. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide technical oversight to the Surveillance products and program development

  • Lead non-advocate reviews, providing critical feedback on the design, integration and test plans.

  • Support the resolution of highly complex technical challenges with both Hardware and Software components

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the program and engineering teams

  • Lead key technical discussions with customers

  • Working with the organization to define technical roadmaps

  • Lead key technical activities to achieve organizational strategies and objectives

  • Coordinate external technical interfaces

Compensation Range: $161,700 - $218,300

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • BA/BS in an engineering discipline required, MS degree preferred

  • 20+ years directly relevant experience in the DoD radar development field, including systems, software, mechanical, or electrical experience developing defense applications.

  • Demonstrated experience understanding, interpreting, and communicating multidisciplinary technical concepts/issues to both technical and non-technical leadership

  • Detailed understanding of the entire system development lifecycle and the interactions with various engineering disciplines, including system design, fabrication, integration, and testing

  • 10+ years experience technical project management, including budget planning, schedule generation, and project monitoring

  • Excellent problem solving skills and strong, demonstrated analytical troubleshooting aptitude

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills, with strong competency in communicating to executive level stakeholders

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
