Financial Analyst

Science Systems and Applications Inc (SSAI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis and provide critical support to the accounting, finance, project control, and procurement functions, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This is position located in Lanham, MD.

The selected candidate will fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data and trends to support business planning and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and month-end close processes.
• Provide financial insight and support to project control teams for budget tracking and variance analysis.
• Partner with procurement to assess vendor performance, cost optimization, and contract compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support operational and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial analysis or a related role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, BI tools).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience supporting project-based organizations or government contracts.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and cost control strategies.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
